Hotel Bären

Here, at the hotel Bären, we guarantee you a marvellous stay in St. Moritz

Only a stone throw away from the Olympia bob run and the Cresta Run, our house is characterised by its sunny and quiet location – the busy pedestrian precinct of St. Moritz is a few minutes away on foot. Apart from the excellent location and a long, eventful history with grown traditions, we offer our guests even more at our traditional family hotel: A cosy and friendly atmosphere, generous lounges, an open fire-place, a sophisticated cuisine, a heated indoor swimming pool, as well as other amenities.

“Everything changes, and there will always be something new”

In the old days, warm water and everybody listening to the radio was the highest of all feelings, today, this has been replaced by the WLAN password for the internet. What remains, is a house like our Bären and the Engadine as a sensational region and most precious treasure.

I look forward to your visit!

Your hostess, Silvia Degiacomi

A house with history

The origins of the hotel Bären are to be found in a restaurant, located at the road from Celerina to St. Moritz. It was established in 1875 by a man named Donatz to provide carriages with an opportunity to rest on their way over the Engadine road. After some eventful years of history, the house came 1924 into the possession of the family Degiacomi. They extended the business over the years with great skill. As the third generation, daughter Silvia decided to continue the hotel business.
